February Wine Pick: Noval Black Porto

This WINE PICK of the month was written for the Luke's of Cape Cod website.

Noval Black Porto

Nothing warms you up in the cold of February like a glass of port. The sweet Portuguese red wine fortified with brandy is the perfect thing to sip between evening snow shovelings.

My wine pick of the month is produced by one of the oldest and famous porthouses around, Quinta do Noval. Since their registration in 1715, they've been well respected and have earned a reputation for innovation.

Their Noval Black is similar to the Late Bottled Vintage style of port. It's a gorgeous ruby red in color with its flavors and aromas heavy with spices, raspberry sauce, strawberry licorice and chocolate. I love port in general and everything about this one just makes me so very happy.

This is a top suggestion as an introductory quality port for people looking to up their port game, and a more wallet friendly option for those that enjoy the more expensive stuff. It's also a beautiful pairing with chocolate.

QUALITY VS PRICE RATING
